Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam Awarded World’s Best Idea Award for Nike “Write The Future” at 2011 New York Festivals International Advertising Awards

For the first time ever, the NYF Executive Jury selected only one outstanding entry to receive the coveted title of “World’s Best Idea®”:  Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam was honored for their integrated campaign “Write The Future” for client Nike.

The objective of “Write The Future” was to weave Nike into conversations taking place around the World Cup.  The winning entry celebrates the participating Nike athletes by giving a glimpse into their future base on their success and failures on the World Cup stage.  Jason Clement, Director of Emerging Platforms at Wieden + Kennedy NY, accepted the award on behalf of W+K Amsterdam.

“We’d like to give a big thank you to the New York Festivals jury for the Grand Award,”said Mark Bernath, Creative Director on the Write the Future campaign and current co-ECD of W+K Amsterdam. “New York is tough enough as it is, so being honored in such a way feels properly special.”

Nike was also presented with the New York Festivals 2011 Advertiser of the Year Award for their commitment to creativity and innovation.  In addition to being awarded the “World’s Best Idea®,”  Nike also earned 1 Gold World Medal, 7 Silver, 1 Bronze, and 7 Finalists.
