World’s Best Radio Programs℠. This week, NYF takes a few moments to connect with 2016 Grand Jury member, Tony McShane, Night Owls Producer for Bauer Media UK.
With over 12 years producing radio shows in both Europe and the UK, award-winning producer, Tony McShane is currently producing the late night talk show, Night Owls. His show has the biggest late night talk audience in the North of England and he has created shows from locations all around the world and including Alan Robson MBE’s legendary ghost hunts, documentaries and entertainment shows like ‘Alien Jesus’. Tony has been recognized by The Radio Academy by recently winning ‘Production Hero’ and ‘Best Comedy/Entertainment Producer’ at the production awards in London.

NYF: Who or what were your early influences in your career?
NYF: What’s the most important thing you learned from your first job?
Tony McShane: To get stuck in and be a team player.
NYF: What were some early leadership lessons for you?
Tony McShane: Talk to people like you want to be spoken to and if someone needs your help then give your best.
NYF: What qualities are the most important to have?
Tony McShane: Loyalty, passion and don’t be a sheep.
NYF: Tell us a bit about your evolution in the radio industry?
Tony McShane: If you’re passionate about the industry you will do whatever it takes. I worked for years doing everything and anything for little or no money. Stick at it and believe in yourself.

Tony McShane: Don’t copy what others do, be unique and believe in what you do.
