New Categories for 2015: Best Journalist, Best Music Program Host, Best Innovation and Audio Books

Each year, New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards consults with their esteemed Radio Awards Advisory Board to insure that the competition is consistently at the forefront of innovation and that all competition categories reflect the emerging trends within the industry. The goal of the World’s Best Radio Programs is simple, to offer diverse categories that award all creative facets of the radio broadcast industry. New York Festivals expanded categories encourage the next generation of story-tellers and talent across all platforms.

Rose Anderson, Executive Director of New York Festivals Radio Awards announced the following new categories for 2015: Best Journalist and Best Music Program Host were added to On-Air Talent and Best Innovation was added to showcase creative and technical innovations in radio broadcasting.

The wide scale appeal of audio books in the marketplace has expanded as more consumers with active lifestyles embrace the convenience of the audio book. This year, the competition also unveiled a roster of Audio Book categories launched to showcase the rising trend in spoken entertainment in this age of digital distribution. Categories include Best Audio Book – Fiction, Best Audio Book – Nonfiction, Best Narration – Solo, and Best Narration – Ensemble.
