April 27, 2007: And the winner is … Scholz & Friends Berlin GmbH. Earning an impressive 16 Interactive and New Media Advertising Awards in 2007, the German agency was awarded the festival’s top honor at the awards ceremony Friday, April 27, 2007, at the Daryl Roth Theater in New York City.
Standout works include their highly acclaimed “Wrong Working Environment†campaign designed for Jobsintown.de. These humorous spots feature people hard at work inside various machines, including a photo booth, an ATM and a coffee dispenser. Geared toward a dissatisfied workforce, it evokes a “this is exactly how I feel†reaction. These ads earned Scholz & Friends a Grand Award in the category of Best Guerrilla Marketing/Alternative Media, as well as a Gold World Medal in the Alternative & Innovative Media: Ambient category and the Guerrilla Marketing: Outdoor category.
Another winner was their “Stop Child Labour†promotion produced for Deutsche Welthungerhilfe, with Scholz & Friends picking up a Bronze World Medal for Best Guerrilla Marketing: Indoor, as well as a Finalist Certificate for Best Place-Based Media.
Judging criteria included the ability of the entry to communicate its message, idea or appeal; design; structure and ease of navigation; interactivity and functionality; originality of the creative/communicative approach; creative concept; marketing impact; and overall user experience.
