NEW YORK festivals to Honor Paul Harvey, Jr. at the 2006 International Radio Programming & Promotions
October 4, 2006: The New York Festivals will honor the illustrious career of Paul Harvey, Jr. with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the 24th Annual International Radio Programming & Promotion Awards. The ceremony will be held on the evening of Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square.
Author, classical composer, and nationally acclaimed radio broadcaster/producer Paul Harvey, Jr. proves that the apple does not fall far from the tree when it comes to talent. The son of legendary radio announcer Paul Harvey, Sr., he has earned critical acclaim in his own right for his work in the radio industry.
Since 1976, Paul Harvey, Jr. has created, produced and written one of the most widely listened-to radio shows, The Rest of the Story ®, becoming one of the most influential producers and writers in the business. Originally hosted by his father, this show airs six days a week, on approximately 1,100 radio stations, reaching nearly 15 million listeners across the nation.
The New York Festivals will announce the 2006 Radio Programming and Promotion winners at this gala event, showcasing the work of Gold, Silver, and Bronze World Medal winners, as well as Grand Awards and special honors from the United Nations Department of Public Information for entries that best exemplify the aims and ideals of the United Nations -- ideals to promote awareness of worldwide health, social, and humanitarian issues.
