2012 Saw Continued Growth of Radio Program & Promotion Awards Competition
This has been a robust year for New York Festivals Radio Program & Promotions Awards. We continually update the competition with categories attuned to the evolving creative environment in the broadcast community. Our new and expanded categories are designed to showcase those emerging trends and encourage the next generation of story-tellers. Even as distribution platforms multiply across the airwave spectrum, one thing remains constant: the power of the individual voice. Our winners engaged their audiences’ curiosity with intensity. We here at New York Festivals are very proud to recognize the creativity, innovation and quality exhibited around the world.
Radio today offers a wealth of excellent and innovative programming in all areas - breaking news, sports, documentaries, drama, promotions, and the arts. The work listed here is considered to be the World’s Best Radio™ created during the year 2011 as attested to by the Producers, Directors, Writers, Creative Directors, Programming Executives, Sound Designers, Composers, Journalists, On-Air Personalities, and Technical Directors that participated as judges on the Grand Jury™. Our jury members are award winners themselves and are recognized for contributing to some of the most captivating programs in the medium.
New York Festivals is the first and only international awards competition that uses the internet in its judging process. Our online platform ensures that each entry receives the proper amount of time and attention, in an environment that is free from outside distractions and unsolicited opinions. Judges are able to listen to each entry in a relaxing and comfortable environment, at home or in the privacy of one’s office, without pressure or influence from anyone else. Each entry is judged on its own merits, not in competition with others in the same category.
There is no one formula of how to make a great piece of radio programming … but every great program has a level of engagement and a resonance with the listener which was painstakingly created in the field, on the set, in the studio, in the mix, at the computer, and was a function of passion, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
